I wasn't sure If I wanted my knights to ride horses or some other kind of animals. If other kind of animals, what would they be derived from? Dinosaurs, maybe something more familiar? I think that carefully designed, “probable” forms of life play an important background role in all kinds of stories. [Technical pen; summer 1994]
