Sketch of a rescue unit

These more detailed sketches continue the idea of the design of a multi-purpose rescue unit. There is still much formal design in them, but also some important details of how the engines would be retracted and fit in the corpse of the vehicle. [Pencil; Jan. 1995]

OK., maybe it's time to ask the question of the importance of such detail, while most *good* stories focus on action and treat technology as a background gadget. As I had said there's much more of a designer in me than a story writer or an S-F artist. That's why both construction and design mean much to me. A famous S-F writer once said he did not even think of what the things he writes about really looked like. I just couldn't go on this way.
